Rolando Gori was born in Italy and moved to Canada when he was six years old. He began writing songs in his teens. He studied classical piano at the Conservatory of Music in Toronto, and went on to pursue a BFA in Composition & Theory (with honors) at Concordia University in Montreal – his education essentially took him from Toronto to Montreal to London (UK). Rolando has written music for several plays in Montreal, Toronto and Riga (Latvia), including I Ought To Be In Pictures, And Then There Were None and The Royal Gambit. He has written pieces for chamber ensembles and dance companies. More recently, Rolando has been busy building his film music reel including several shorts, a spot for the Converse website and two recent documentary scores for the United Nations. His works have been performed in Canada, the USA, the UK, Latvia and Bulgaria.
At present, he lives in New York City, with his wife, who is also an accomplished composer and performer, and their young daughter.
